Aron Golombek, Class of 2016
“One very vivid memory I have of BMS is the strong sense of integrated community within my cohort. Having so many people from different cultures and countries and striving to always understand and work together, really inspired me to seek out international environments everywhere I go and motivated me to study abroad for my undergraduate degree. ”
After 12 years as a BMS student, Aron went on to study at the Delft University of Technology majoring in Aerospace Engineering. During his Bachelor studies, Aron and his team worked on a design project about space-based geoengineering to mitigate climate change, where they were tasked with the challenge to design a sun shield to block 2% of UV radiation reaching Earth. In addition, Aron has been part of a consulting company at TU Delft-Erasmus where students offer free consulting services to non-profit organizations and social enterprises. This practical experience allowed him to consult a company on how best to reduce plastic waste in rivers worldwide with a patented technology to trap river waste.
“I think that the individual attention and care I received enabled me to have a positive and solid start to my studies. The DP Higher Level Mathematics course truly prepared me for university-standard mathematics and the university admissions advice I received, was an excellent match for my future goals. I am just about to complete my degree at the university I was advised to attend based on my goals and focus!”
