BMS Chess Club

Chess is more than just a game – it's a battle of minds, a test of strategy, and a journey of growth. At BMS, we believe every student has the potential to become a great chess player, and our Chess Club is the place where that journey begins.♟️

The BMS Chess Club is open to all primary and secondary students and is organised into three groups based on experience level – ensuring every student finds the right place to start and grow.

Beginner Club The Beginner Club is the perfect starting point for students with little or no prior experience in chess. In a supportive and encouraging environment, students learn the fundamentals of the game — the rules, how the pieces move, and the basic principles of good play.

Improving Beginners For students who have already taken their first steps in chess, this group offers the ideal opportunity to build on what they know. Sessions focus on refining strategies and developing a deeper understanding of the game.

BMS Chess Team Students who demonstrate strong ability and dedication will be invited to join the BMS Chess Team — representing BMS at tournaments against other schools and gaining valuable competitive experience.
