Saliha Aslan, Primary School Principal

Saliha Aslan leads our Primary School from Grade 1-Grade 6, bringing with her over 17 years of experience in international education as a school leader and educator. Before joining BMS, Saliha was Principal and Head of School at an international school in Istanbul, successfully leading the strategic vision of the school and the K-8 academic program. Saliha holds a graduate degree in school leadership and has extensive experience in leading authorization and accreditation evaluations for international schools across the world. In her role as BMS Primary Principal, Saliha is a strong advocate of transformative leadership, facilitating change by creating a culture that both inspires and builds trust amongst students, teachers, staff, and parents.

Eva Tücking, Vice Principal Student Progress

Eva Tücking, Vice Principal Student Progress

Eva Tuecking has an extensive background in international education and school leadership, having spent 16 years in Shanghai, China as an international educator and school leader. As a native of Germany, Eva holds a graduate degree in educational science from the University of Heidelberg and has over 20 years of experience in international education. Eva is passionate about supporting holistic student growth and places emphasis on providing positive behavior approaches, robust inclusion practices, and creating systems that guide students in holistic intellectual and character growth. Eva leads the development of our students in Gr. 1-6 as Vice Principal, Student Progress in our Primary School.

Melissa Lake, Vice Principal Teaching & Learning

Melissa Lake, Vice Principal Teaching & Learning

Melissa Lake has been a dedicated member of the BMS team since 2016, acting as Primary School Math Coordinator and Classroom Teacher for Grades 5-6. An international educator dedicated to developing a classroom culture that empowers students to play a central and active role in their learning, Melissa has been decisive in creating a clear and cohesive Mathematics Program in our upper Primary School providing students with the tools and opportunities to develop sustainable and successful learning outcomes. Melissa places keen focus on supporting teachers in developing and managing a data-driven approach to assessing learning outcomes, so that conceptual understanding and skill development are a central part of the learning continuum in Grades 1-6. Melissa holds a graduate degree in education from Johns Hopkins University and leads the development of our academic program in Primary School as Vice Principal, Teaching & Learning.

Andrew Turner, PYP Coordinator

Andrew Turner, PYP Coordinator

Andrew Turner leads the development and management of our Primary Years Programme (PYP) as Coordinator, after having served as a Grade 6 Team Leader for five years in our Primary School. A native of Sydney, Australia, Andrew holds an undergraduate degree in education from the University of Notre Dame and has international teaching experience in both Germany and the UK. Passionate about inquiry-based learning and establishing a collaborative process for teachers to develop a rich connection to the PYP, Andrew focuses on the continued development of conceptual and skills-based learning amongst our youngest BMS students and a clear articulation of our K-6 curriculum.

Antje Couball, CCEP Coordinator

Antje Couball, CCEP Coordinator

Antje joined the CCEP team in 2011 and has been the CCEP Coordinator since 2013, overseeing the strategic development and operations of our Afterschool program in the Primary School. Over the course of her tenure at BMS, Antje has been instrumental in managing the direction and organization of our clubs, in-class teaching support, and our CCEP staff. Antje holds a degree in social work and has international professional experience in both Hungary and Canada.
