Our Grade 10, Grade 11, and Grade 12 students had the opportunity to participate in a presentation by representatives from the London School of Economics (LSE) and Imperial College in the UK. The session offered valuable insights, tips for competitive applications, guidance on crafting strong personal statements, and detailed information about these prestigious institutions - November 29th 2024
We are proud to announce that our BMS Hawks Basketball team recently took home First Place in the regional secondary school basketball tournament in Berlin. Our Hawks went undefeated in group stage games, the semi-final round, and the championship tournament. An amazing outcome for our students! Coach Ross and Coach Konstantinos commended the group on their excellent team playing skills in all games. GO HAWKS!
Congratulations to the BMS Model UN Team on another successful conference at Oxford! Our students attended the 10th Anniversary Model UN Conference together with their peers from international schools all over the world. BMS delegates prepared speeches and delegation sessions on underrepresented and underexplored issues of global importance. Congrats to Arwa and Elisabeth, Arianna, Marieluise and Charlotte, Feliks and David, Selin, Isadora, and Zadie on winning awards! We look forward to the next round!
IBDP Visual Arts students recently participated in a printmaking workshop given by visiting professor Riccardo Baccani from NABA (Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti) and the Graphic Design and Art Direction faculty. Our students had the opportunity to ask questions and listen to information about Italy's largest Art & Design Academy and the exciting courses offered in Milan & Rome. BMS students helped to clean up and restore a local animal sanctuary in Brandenburg, improving the living and feeding environment of cows, pigs, and other farm animals. Our Secondary students look forward to this project each school year, now in its 4th year! These projects not only provide our students with an opportunity for direct service in their local area, but also help them complete their CAS activities as part of their IB DP Studies.
Our campus is always busy this time of year preparing our students for university applications, and we recently welcomed university representatives from ESADE University, Spain and King´s College, London to speak with our students on admissions, study programs, and campus life. We look forward to welcoming Bard College Berlin, London School of Economics, and Imperial College London this month!
We look forward to welcoming interested families to our virtual open house sessions for the 2024/25 Academic Year. Our admissions team will lead the presentations, explaining our school program, school life, and the application process. Members of our academic leadership will also be on hand to answer specific questions from our guests and explain the benefits of our K-12 international curriculum.
Dedicated members of our Model UN Club are preparing for the 10th Anniversary Model UN Conference at Oxford University on November 21st. The conference is always a high point in the school year for our Model UN Club Members and the theme this year will be focused on global spotlights. Our students will prepare speeches and engagement activities aimed at understanding underexplored and underrepresented issues in the global political spheres of international relations.
Our dedicated CCEP Team is gearing up for the annual CCEP talent show in our Primary School. Our artists, singers, dancers, and performers will take to the BMS stage in early February. We look forward to welcoming our community in the new year for the show in our school auditorium!

Our Secondary students recently participated in a Berlin-wide initiative to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. By creating artistic posters with messages, symbols, and text, BMS students were able to bring important and historical themes to life. Freedom, protest, peaceful revolution and many more ideas were creatively illustrated by our students! These posters will be part of an open-air installation in Berlin curated by the Kulturprojekte Berlin and Mauerfall35.
Museum excursions, arts & crafts workshops, a Halloween party, Lego club, student-led café, soccer tournaments, and so much more await our students during the Fall Vacation Program 2024, beginning on October 21st. We look forward to welcoming our Primary school students and ask our parent community to follow the registration details from our CCEP Team on our BMS Parent Portal.
Our Secondary faculty has been busy preparing an engaging Theme Day, taking place this year on October 15th. The day is dedicated to offering our students with a day entirely dedicated to transdisciplinary themes across our curriculum from Gr. 7-12. Each year level will focus on a specific theme from their lessons and deepen their learning through a creative task, science lab experiments, excursions, panel discussions with external experts, and so much more! Stay tuned for a few impressions.
BMS will host a university presentation and talk by four key liberal arts institutions from the United States, featuring Barnard, Bowdoin, Pomona College, and Williams College. Guests will hear presentations on U.S. academic programs, undergraduate admissions, and financial aid, as well as learn about key features of these four institutions. Join us on October 2, 2024!
BMS had a special visit from members of the Class of 2022 to invite our faculty to a showcase event for an app they are creating to aid teachers in navigating how learning is impacted in our digital world. Stay tuned for the launch and link--hats off to our Alumni for their creativity and ambition!

We would like to thank our BMS Gr. 1 Families for attending our 2024 Einschulung Ceremony, formally welcoming our first grade students to BMS. Einschulung is always a very special time for our faculty, staff, and parents, as we welcome our youngest Primary School students to the start of school.
Our annual creativity showcase celebrates the incredible talents of our students and allows our wider community to see our students first hand in action! Each year parrents, students, faculty and staff are able to enjoy theatrical performances, ancient Egyptian museum exhibitions, solo and duet musical performances, science experiments, and so much more. We are gearing up for a very special community celebration on July 4, 2024! Games, face painting, food trucks, BMS music stage, games and activities, and so much more will take place in our school building and in our courtyard. You won´t want to miss this event!
The Gr. 6 Exhibition Project represents the culmination of the PYP journey and encompasses the essence of what is means to be an inquiry-based learner. Our Gr. 6 students have used the last weeks to prepare for their PYP Gr. 6 Exhibition, representing the final presentation of their research and their time as Primary School students. Our community will listen to their presentations, celebrate their journey of inquiry, and above all, congratulate them on the successful conclusion of their time in Primary School.
Our Gr. 10 students will travel to Spain from June 17th-21st, coming together as a class to relax after their demanding IGCSE and MSA Examinations. The students will be participating in outdoor fun, including beach sports, swimming, and spending time with their grade level after months of intense study!
Our annual creativity showcase will take place on June 14th, celebrating student achievement, the artistic and creative engagement of our students, and offering our community the opportunity to celebrate our students. Save the date and watch this space for the full program.
Over 20 schools within Europe recently participated in the annual IRIS book awards, including BMS! Our BMS students voted for their favorite books and the results are in for this year´s award recipients. Congrats to the winners and hats off to our students for their engagement!
Primary school students had a day filled with games, relay races, and other fun competitive activities at our recent Sports Day. A massive thanks to our BMS Hawk Mascot for cheering on the teams and joining in the fun. Earth House was named champion and winner of Sports Day!
