DP Students & Academic Achievement: BMS Extended Essay (EE) Publication

We would like to congratulate selected members of the Class of 2021 on the inclusion of their 4000-word Extended Essay (EE) in our annual BMS EE Publication. Ten students were given the honor to publish their academic essays, ranging from Art, Music, Film, Psychology, Global Politics and much more. The completed written compositions represent over 2 years of commitment and dedication and is testament to our students´ ability to produce excellent academic research and writing. The results continue to inspire us and show the excellent academic ability and creativity our students display and exhibit in their written work.

January kicks off with the first small tournaments as part of the ALBA Primary School basketball league games, featuring many different schools throughout Berlin. Our Grade 1 and Grade 2 students will begin the first rounds this week—we look forward to reporting on their scores and highlights!

Daniel Kaufhold is set to begin the second edition of parent workshops in the mindfulness series in February and March, providing parents with an introduction to mindfulness and presenting helpful and practical tips on how to start your own mindfulness practice. BMS Building Project

BMS Building Project

We are proud to announce that our BMS Building Project received the Deutscher Holzbaupreis 2021, awarded for the use of wood in the construction and design of a building. The building expansion was realized under the architectural direction of Sauerbruch Hutton and was part an exhibition installment at the recent Venice Architecture Biennale.

Our BMS HAWKS recently participated in a basketball tournament organized by our long-standing partnership with ALBA Berlin, where they competed against three other schools in Berlin and took home 2nd place! GO HAWKS! We look forward to updating our community on their future games!

Primary School Arts and Science: Light Logic

Our Grade 6 students have been busy creating drawings and paintings, exploring the use of how light logic can make pictures more realistic and aid in understanding were shadows fall on objects for their depiction. Our students practiced the basics of light logic before they began their still drawings, connecting with their studies in science class, where they are learning about light waves and how they function.
