Eugene Collins leads the fine and performing arts department and is inspired to make the arts accessible to all students. In addition, Eugene Collins is passionate about experiencing art in its true form; outside of the classroom in everyday situations and contexts. He is a stark advocate for art in action and frequently plans class excursions and trips to inspire his students.
Andrea Krentzien leads the German Language and Literature department and inspires students from all backgrounds to embrace both German language learning and literature. Andrea Krentzien places marked emphasis within the department on designing instructional techniques that unlock student creativity and which seek to engage the student through activities that encourage long-term motivation and academic achievement.
Katja Malinowski leads the Humanities Department and brings with her a vast amount of knowledge and experience in teaching the humanities subjects Geography and History, for both international school curricula programs and the German national educational system. Katja recently joined BMS from the German International School of Boston, where she worked as the Head of Humanities Department for over five years.
Richard Drake has been teaching in London and Berlin for over a decade and leads a mathematics team of diverse strengths and experiences. His emphasis on the student experience of Mathematics drives him and his team to deliver a mathematics curriculum that is wide-ranging and stimulating, whilst grounded in mathematical precision and academic rigor.
Carmen Mena Elvira leads the Science department and inspires both teachers and students to actively engage their growth as individuals so as to improve structures and systems for continuous improvement. Having previously held the position of Head of House, Carmen places marked emphasis within the department on cultivating a united, passionate and supportive environment that leads to lasting support for students from Grade 7-12.
Allison Perkins leads our English Department and brings with her over 20 years´ experience in teaching English Language and Literature. Allison Perkins is a staunch advocate for bringing literature alive in the classroom and seeks to find the passion for literature in each of her students.
Maude Robitaille is the Head of the World Languages Department and has been teaching languages around the world for more than a decade. She is passionate about what she does and really enjoys the pride in her students' eyes when they are able to express themselves in a new language. She strives for her students to expand their international mindedness not only by learning a foreign language, but also by discovering the culture associated with it.
