Secondary School

BMS Secondary School aims to build an inclusive culture of learning that equips its students with the necessary skills to succeed in tertiary education and be active participants in an increasingly competitive, inter-connected global society. Our student body is represented by the host country, as well as students from around the world, enriching the entire school community with exposure to different cultures and ways of thinking.

In partnership with dedicated and internationally qualified teachers, our students are active participants in their education. Diligence, curiosity, responsibility, independence, and respect are encouraged through school structures, both academic and pastoral, that allow our students the opportunity to acquire skills, knowledge and understanding through experience. Indeed, the foundation of our mission is ultimately to provide an educational environment that fosters the individual to find in themselves their potential and help them share their unique gifts with the rest of humanity.

The Secondary School aims to be a center of academic excellence that follows a preparatory program combining the local and international curriculum standards in Grades 7 and 8 leading to the International General Certificate of

Secondary Education (IGCSE) and the Mittlere Schulabschluss (MSA) in Grades 9 and 10, as well as the rigorous IB DP (Diploma Programme) in Grades 11-12. The curricula delivered at BMS are recognized internationally as academically demanding and challenging, and at the same time designed to develop the whole person.

The Secondary Co-Curricula Educational Program (CCEP) offers a variety of sporting, artistic and cultural opportunities for all students and takes full advantage of the schools fantastic central location and facilities.

Parallel to the delivery of a rigorous academic curriculum, a critical foundation stone of the Secondary School is the provision of a strong pastoral care system. Each student is a member of our Vertical House System where the Head of House and House tutors focus on helping each student to achieve their potential intellectually, academically and emotionally.
