As an international day school, we offer our students a daily educational and recreational program from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., in addition to their regular school program. A team of 30 trained educators and social educational workers take care of our children in the afternoons and administer a program of 60 courses and more than 1,000 places. In order to ensure the learning success of the students, we believe that it is crucial that learning continues outside of the classroom. We also use an integrated approach here and extend our educational standards over into the afternoon program.
Our students have the opportunity to try out activities depending on their interests and experience in a playful atmosphere, acquire new knowledge, and expand their existing skills.
The clubs, courses, and activities may be booked for a whole semester and many courses are modular and build on previous courses. Some courses require year-long registration, such as membership of our school teams as they often accompany our students throughout their entire school careers. Some clubs are held by teachers, but most are taught by external experts.
Our aim is to promote the cognitive, social, and motor skills of our students through a broad range of interesting activities and to help them develop a sense of team spirit, independence and confidence with others. At the same time, we also want to help the students develop their own personality, maintain their thirst for knowledge, and promote dialogue between students of various backgrounds and religions.
To encourage student-led dedication to mastery learning, there is a Homework Club held in the afternoons, where students can do their homework with the guidance of a teacher, finish tasks, or prepare for tests. In addition to all these activities, we also offer our students plenty of space and opportunity to play, meet their friends, read, or enjoy arts and crafts. And finally, we believe in a work-life balance and want to support our busy families with this after-school service.
