As an international school, the induction of students joining BMS is a matter close to our hearts. For many of our new students, the first day at school is also associated with settling into a new country, a new culture and a new social structure.
We therefore give as much support as we can throughout the settling-in process.
Our aim is to build personal relationships as quickly as possible based on trust. Teachers are aware of the acclimatization process new students undergo and endeavor to offer the best support possible based on the needs of each individual.
In addition to the friendly welcome extended to new students by our existing students and the encouragement from our staff, new families can also count on the school’s support in the following ways
- New students are welcomed by the Admissions Director and the respective Principal and introduced to school life at BMS by a "buddy student". All students receive a Welcome Package on the first day of school with all the information they will need.
- The parent representatives for each class welcome new families to the class and help them familiarize themselves with Berlin and BMS.
- Our "Friends of BMS" parents’ group provides active support in the event of queries and is on hand with advice to help people settle into the BMS community.
- Numerous events such as house picnics in the secondary school, a New Year reception held by the parents’ initiative and regular school events offer opportunities to get to know the school community.
