Secondary Camp Week
Starting in Grade 7 we take our students on class trips abroad. Up until Grade 10, we explore Europe together, and after that we travel overseas. When choosing our destinations, it is important to us that our students visit schools in other countries, that links are forged between units of learning in social studies, and that students experience and use the English language.
We use these class trips in order to show our students that they belong to a large community of students in Europe and the world, all of whom are learning according to the same principles applied at the BMS, and that their language gives them the freedom to enter into conversation with students in other countries. At the same time, we would like to show them that the world is large and diverse as we allow it to be, and we wish to inspire them to use their international education as a springboard into the world.
This year, our 6th Grade students will travel to southern Germany. The trip will focus on community and on working in a team. The students will build a raft together and travel together, spending the night in tree houses and discovering nature together.
