House culture is a defining element in the life of a Secondary School student. House competitions and activities are a central part in building the identity as a member of their house and allow students to form bonds of friendship and collaboration. These include sports' day competitions, chess matches, and competitions in selected weekly assemblies.
Together with the student leadership, students create their house vision as a group within their first house meeting. Students create a common house action with each new school year which guides their efforts to support both local and international charities and is tied to their specific vision and house element.
Students from Fire House created their specific House Action by focusing on collaboration with different local and international organizations. In supporting their vision, "Fire House endeavors to shine light and spread warmth through empathy, kindenss, and building connections with our local and wider community so that we can affect the change we want to see in the world", Fire House works with local chartities aimed at helping Refugees in Berlin. Periodically throughout the year, fundraisers are held to generate both support and finances to promote this vision and accompanying actions.
