Preschool
In the preschool, we take project work to the next level and intensify the assignments. In addition to the Berlin State curriculum that covers education in the areas of: body and movement, social and cultural environment, communication, visual art, music, basic mathematics, basic science and technology, the first phase of the IB Organisation's Primary Years Programme also serves as a framework for our teaching. Our children learn about certain subjects based on central questions as part of the IB curriculum. Learning is thus active and interdisciplinary. The students have different experiences, gain insights and are encouraged and supported with all of their senses and abilities.
Our preschool students also explore the world of mathematics and languages. They have music instruction and take part in movement classes where they can let off steam. Each week, they take field trips to discover the surrounding area and the many possibilities Berlin has to offer, which are part of the units.
Our preschool teachers work closely together with the upper class teachers to prepare the children for a smooth transition to primary school. We evaluate the children's development at regular intervals and consult with the teachers about possibilities for advancement, to ensure that every child has the best possible start to his or her schooling. We work closely together with parents to make the development transparent.
Just as in the kindergarten, balanced and healthy meals are provided to our students throughout the day.
